Job Description:

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Assistant to support our team in maintaining high standards for product quality. This role is essential in ensuring that the raw and packaging materials used by the company, as well as finished products, comply with our specifications and are safe for consumer use. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring quality parameters, documenting and managing incoming material, and adhering to quality assurance protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct incoming raw and packaging material inspections to ensure adherence to company specifications.
• Manage raw and packaging material documentation, including Supplier Certificate of Analysis (COA) and review against SAP PLM specifications.
• Perform sampling of incoming raw and packaging materials based on sampling plans.
• Coordinate with the lab to send samples for micro-analysis, especially for high-risk packaging materials.
• Identify and report non-conformances or deviations using SNCR and QEWO systems during material reception.
• Update SNCR tracker and follow up on outstanding responses for corrective actions.
• Release finished product stock and manage the release or block of raw materials physically and in SAP.
• Check stock allocations to ensure materials are in the correct slots for allergen management.
• Verify material quality before issuing to line side and inspect line side returns for compliance.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and storage practices in the inbound area, including Hotmelt and chill store inspections.

Qualifications:

• Minimum Grade 12 (High School Diploma).
• A Degree or Diploma in one of the following fields is required:
  • Life or Environmental Sciences
  • Packaging Technology
  • Food Technology
  • Microbiology
  • Zoology
  • Environmental Management System
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Analytical Chemistry
  • Biochemistry

Experience:

• Prior experience in a quality assurance or material inspection role is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of SAP PLM or similar quality management systems will be beneficial.

Skills:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct precise inspections.
• Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) for tracking and reporting.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills for managing non-conformances.
• Understanding of quality assurance practices and allergen management.
