Position Purpose:

The UNICEF Internship Programme aims to support the organization’s mission to promote and protect the rights of children while providing interns with hands-on experience in the humanitarian and development sectors. The program is designed to develop interns’ professional skills, enhance their understanding of UNICEF’s work, and prepare them for future careers in international development and advocacy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with research and data collection to support ongoing projects and initiatives related to child rights, health, education, and protection.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation of project activities, including organizing events, workshops, and community outreach programs.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing documentation, scheduling meetings, and coordinating logistics.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions and project discussions.
  • Engage in training sessions and workshops to deepen understanding of UNICEF’s mandate and operations.

Education:

  • Current students or recent graduates pursuing a degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, Education, or a related field.
  • Strong academic performance with a demonstrated interest in child rights, humanitarian work, or development.
Experience:
  • No prior work experience is required.
  • Relevant experience through academic projects, internships, or volunteer work in social services, education, or international development will be considered advantageous.
Skills:
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of child rights, development issues, and humanitarian principles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning and contributing to projects.
