Job Overview:
SGS, a global leader in inspection, verification, testing, and certification, is offering internship programs for 2024. This program is designed to provide recent graduates and current students with practical experience in various departments within SGS, including laboratory testing, quality control, operations, and project management. Position Purpose:
The SGS Internship Program aims to develop emerging talent by offering practical experience and exposure to the inspection, testing, and certification industry. Interns will contribute to SGS’s core operations, support key projects, and gain insights into industry practices, helping to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional application.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day operations within assigned departments, including laboratory testing, quality assurance, and project management.
- Support the execution of tests and inspections, and contribute to the analysis and interpretation of results.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and presentations related to projects and operational activities.
- Participate in team meetings, project planning, and strategy discussions.
- Support administrative tasks and assist with client and vendor interactions as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by supervisors and internship coordinators.
Education:
- Recent graduate or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in fields such as Chemistry, Environmental Science, Engineering, Quality Management, or related disciplines.
- A strong academic record with relevant coursework or research experience.
Experience:
- Previous internships or work experience in laboratory testing, quality control, or related fields is advantageous but not required.
- Relevant academic projects or volunteer work related to testing, inspections, or project management are beneficial.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures, quality control processes, or project management is a plus.
