The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is offering an internship program for 2024 aimed at providing recent graduates with valuable work experience in the healthcare and blood services sector. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the collection, processing, and distribution of blood and blood products.
  • Support in the management and maintenance of donor databases and records.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and donor recruitment activities.
  • Help with administrative tasks, including report preparation and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with medical and support staff on various projects and initiatives.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Education:

  • A recognized undergraduate or postgraduate degree in one of the following fields: Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences, Medical Technology, Nursing, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant coursework or certifications in blood banking or healthcare will be advantageous.

Experience:

  • No prior work experience is required.
  • Experience through internships, volunteer work, or academic projects related to healthcare or blood services is a plus.
Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
