Job Overview:

The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Internship Program for 2024 is designed to provide recent graduates with hands-on experience in the accounting and finance sector. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation and review of financial statements, reports, and documentation.
  • Support auditing tasks, including data analysis, documentation, and compliance checks.
  • Contribute to tax planning and compliance activities, including the preparation of tax returns and reports.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing records, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to enhance understanding of accounting practices and industry standards.
  • Conduct research and assist with special projects related to accounting, finance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Adhere to SAICA’s policies and procedures while performing assigned tasks.

Education:

  • Recent graduate with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

  • No prior work experience required; however, any relevant internships, co-op placements, or part-time work in accounting or finance is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in accounting and finance.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Good time-management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
