Job Description:
As a Commercial Buying Intern, you will assist the buying team by supporting various aspects of product procurement, market research, and supplier negotiations. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills in merchandising, procurement, and retail buying while contributing to the overall success of the business.

  • Assist in reviewing sales and stock reports to identify trends and insights.
  • Support the preparation of financial and sales presentations for internal reviews.
  • Maintain and manage data related to inventory and product listings.
  • Add new items or variants to the product range, ensuring proper categorization.
  • Ensure accurate allocation and gridding of product innovations.
  • Coordinate with the ARC Marketing team for stock management across locations.
  • Help manage product categories to maintain a balanced assortment.
  • Conduct consumer research and analyze competitor strategies.
  • Participate in supplier meetings and assist with communications.
  • Track supplier performance and delivery timelines.
  • Support the team in identifying emerging trends that align with business goals.
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance buying efficiency.
  • Develop tracking tools to monitor supplier performance and stock levels.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Commerce degree or a related field.
  • Strong interest in buying, merchandising, or retail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with basic analytical skills.

Experience:

  • No prior experience required, but experience or coursework in buying, merchandising, or retail is beneficial.
