Job Overview: The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is offering learnership programs for 2024 aimed at providing young individuals with practical experience and professional development in the field of public prosecution and legal services. Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Assist with case preparation and legal research, including reviewing case files and supporting documentation.
  • Support prosecutors in the courtroom by organizing evidence, preparing briefs, and attending court proceedings.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks such as managing case files, drafting legal documents, and handling correspondence.
  • Engage in various departmental projects and initiatives related to public prosecution and legal services.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance understanding of criminal law and prosecution practices.
  • Provide support to team members and contribute to collaborative efforts within the NPA.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support departmental functions.

Education:

  • Recently completed or currently completing a degree in Law, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Minimum academic requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

Experience:

  • No prior professional experience required; however, any relevant internships, academic projects, or volunteer work in legal or public service will be considered advantageous.
Skills:
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of criminal law and legal procedures is beneficial.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and public service.
