The Medical Research Council (MRC) is offering internship opportunities for 2024 to provide recent graduates with practical experience in medical research and health sciences. Position Purpose
The MRC Internship Program aims to support recent graduates by providing them with exposure to various aspects of medical research. Interns will work alongside experienced researchers to contribute to ongoing projects, gain practical skills, and develop a deeper understanding of research processes and health sciences.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting research activities, including data collection, analysis, and documentation.
- Support the preparation of research reports, presentations, and scientific papers.
- Participate in literature reviews and contribute to the development of research protocols and methodologies.
- Help manage and maintain research databases, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborate with research teams to implement project plans and monitor progress.
- Assist in the recruitment and coordination of study participants and research subjects.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings and maintaining project records.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings and research seminars.
Education
- A Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Public Health, or a related field.
- A strong academic record from a recognized institution.
Experience
- No prior work experience is required, but relevant internships, research projects, or coursework in medical or health sciences are advantageous.
Skills
- Basic knowledge of research methods and data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
