Job Description

The Finance Internship at Miway offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in financial processes and management. Interns will assist with various financial responsibilities, including processing management expenses, reconciling accounts, and handling company credit and fleet card administration. This internship will provide hands-on experience in using financial software like JD Edwards (JDE) and working with financial reporting standards such as IFRS and tax regulations like VAT.

Responsibilities

As a Finance Intern, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Processing management expenses on the JDE system.
  • Investigating and resolving accounts payable issues.
  • Performing monthly reconciliation of suppliers’ accounts.
  • Updating the fixed asset register in the JDE system and processing depreciation journals.
  • Reconciling fixed assets.
  • Administering company credit cards.
  • Reconciling the Visa Spend System with the JDE system monthly.
  • Managing fleet card administration, including new applications, cancellations, and amendments.
  • Preparing monthly accrual schedules.
  • Submitting quarterly reports to the Reserve Bank and SASRIA.
  • Assisting with ad-hoc financial projects as required.

Qualifications

  • BCom Degree in Finance or an equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • No specific prior experience is required; however, knowledge of financial principles, processes, and accounting systems will be beneficial.
