Job Description
Marriott International is seeking enthusiastic candidates to join their Accelerate Orientation Trainee Programme, a comprehensive youth development initiative. This program provides participants with practical working experience in the hospitality industry and serves as a pathway to Marriott’s 3-year Accelerate Programme. These opportunities are specifically aimed at South African nationals and are designed to nurture talent and develop future leaders in hospitality management or professional cookery.
Responsibilities
- Gain hands-on practical experience working in a Marriott International hotel.
- Learn key operational and management skills in hospitality or professional cookery.
- Engage in both practical and academic development sessions tailored to the industry.
- Build an understanding of the hospitality sector and evaluate your career fit during the Orientation Programme.
- Participate actively in mentoring and training sessions to enhance career readiness.
Qualifications
To be eligible for these programs, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen by birth.
- Aged between 18 and 22 years, and must not turn older than 22 in the year of application.
- Hold a Matric (Grade 12) certificate or an equivalent NQF Level 4 or NCV Level 4 qualification.
- Must have passed all 7 Matric subjects, preferably with a 50% or higher in each subject.
- Candidates with lower Matric results will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
- Only candidates without any post-Matric/NQF 4/NCV 4 qualifications will be considered.
Experience
- No prior work experience is required, making this program ideal for recent school graduates.
- Previous exposure to hospitality-related environments is advantageous but not mandatory.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
