Job Overview

Position Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities
Interns will be expected to:
- Assist in conducting research on various economic development projects and programs.
- Help with the preparation of reports, presentations, and strategic documents.
- Support the department’s efforts in business support, development, and investment promotion.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and the preparation of economic reports and proposals.
- Participate in meetings and community engagement activities related to economic growth and development.
- Provide administrative support, including filing, document management, and scheduling.
- Assist in the management of the department’s digital and online platforms, including maintaining databases.
- Help in drafting policy briefs, project proposals, and recommendations for decision-making.
- Attend training and development sessions aimed at enhancing personal and professional growth.
Education Requirements
- A National Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
- A Degree or Diploma in one of the following fields:
- Economics
- Business Administration
- Public Administration
- Development Studies
- Finance
- Political Science
- Sociology
- Project Management
- Marketing
Applicants with qualifications in other relevant fields may also be considered.
Experience Requirements
- No formal work experience required.
- Candidates should be recent graduates or students in their final year of study who are eager to gain practical work experience.
- Preference will be given to candidates who are unemployed and have never been part of a government internship program.
