Job Overview
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is offering internships for 2024 as part of a government initiative to provide unemployed graduates with valuable work experience in the agricultural and rural development sectors. Position Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities

- Engage with local communities to promote agricultural development and sustainability.

Education Requirements
- Must have a completed National Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
- No prior work experience is required. This internship is designed for unemployed graduates seeking to gain practical experience.
- Any previous internship or volunteer experience in agriculture or rural development will be beneficial but not mandatory.
Skills Requirements
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic knowledge of agricultural practices and rural development (preferred but not mandatory).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A willingness to learn and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
Beneficiaries of the Internship Programme
- The internship program is aimed at unemployed South African youth aged 18 to 35.
- Preference will be given to individuals from historically disadvantaged backgrounds, in alignment with government employment equity policies.
