Job Description:
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport offers a 24-month Graduate Internship Programme for unemployed graduates. This program provides an opportunity for graduates with an appropriate Degree or National Diploma (NQF 6 and above) to gain valuable work-related experience in various specialized fields. The program aims to support historically disadvantaged individuals and equip them with the skills necessary for future employment.
Responsibilities:
As an intern at the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport, you will be placed in one of the following areas:
- Assets/Stores: Manage assets and inventory.
- Auxiliary Services: Assist in office management and public administration.
- Communications: Engage in public relations, journalism, and graphic design.
- Corporate Support Services: Support property management and real estate activities.
- Fleet Management: Manage vehicle fleets and logistical operations.
- Empowerment Programs: Work on community development initiatives.
- Finance: Handle financial accounting and management tasks.
- General Administration: Provide administrative support to various departments.
- Human Resource Management: Assist with HR functions and processes.
- Information Technology: Contribute to software development, business analysis, and IT support.
- Maintenance: Work on civil engineering and maintenance projects.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Track performance and compliance through auditing and evaluations.
- Motor Transport Services: Manage financial and HR services related to motor transport.
- Organizational Development Services: Support operational and production management.
- Provincial Regulatory Entity: Engage in transport and public management.
- Registry/Records: Assist with archival and information management.
- Risk Management: Work in internal auditing and risk management.
- Road Safety: Participate in road safety and traffic management.
- Supply Chain Management: Assist in procurement and supply chain operations.
- Technical Services: Support construction and civil engineering projects.
- Transport Infrastructure & District Services: Participate in district-level transport infrastructure projects.
- Traffic Camera Office: Work in office administration and public management.
Qualifications:
Applicants must hold a National Diploma or Degree in the following areas, depending on the chosen placement:
