The Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) is offering its Internship Opportunities for 2024. Position Purpose
The JRA Internship Program aims to develop future professionals in the field of urban infrastructure by providing practical experience in road management and related areas. Interns will assist in various projects and gain exposure to the technical and administrative aspects of managing a major metropolitan road network.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, implementation, and monitoring of road maintenance and construction projects.
- Support the collection and analysis of data related to road conditions, traffic patterns, and project progress.
- Contribute to the development of reports, presentations, and project documentation.
- Participate in site inspections and evaluations of ongoing projects.
- Perform administrative tasks such as organizing meetings, managing documents, and data entry.
Education Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
- No prior professional experience is required; however, relevant coursework or practical experience in infrastructure or urban development is advantageous.
Skills Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with technical software.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.
- Basic understanding of road management and urban infrastructure is beneficial.
