Job Description
The GIBB YES Internship Programme 2024/2025 is part of the Youth Employment Service (YES), a collaborative initiative aimed at reducing youth unemployment in both the private and public sectors. This program provides young South Africans with the opportunity to develop essential skills, gain meaningful workplace experience, and earn a salary, significantly improving their chances of securing long-term employment.
Responsibilities
- Participate in structured training and development within various fields.
- Gain practical experience in a professional work environment.
- Collaborate with experienced professionals on real projects.
- Contribute to business operations and support team objectives.
Qualifications
Internship Opportunities Available:
- Business: National Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance/Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Project Management.
- Engineering / IT: National Diploma in Civil Engineering or completion of a Software Development course.
- Water and Integrated Infrastructure: Grade 12 with Mathematics, Science, and English; National Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Electrical Engineering: Grade 12 with Mathematics, Science, and English; National Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Mechanical Engineering: Grade 12 with Mathematics, Science, and English; National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Human Capital Management: National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources.
- Engineering / Admin / IT: National Diploma in Civil Engineering, National Diploma in Administration, or qualification as a Computer Technician with A+ and N+ certification.
Experience
- No prior work experience is required, but a willingness to learn is essential.
Skills
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Aged between 18 to 35 years.
- Unemployed and available for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
- Not a previous YES beneficiary.
- PC literate with a desire to learn new skills.
- Responsible and honest with a strong work ethic.
