Job Description
The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 2025 Internship Programme. This initiative provides an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while contributing to the advancement of gender equality in South Africa.

Responsibilities
Interns will be expected to:

  • Assist in their respective departments, contributing to projects and tasks aligned with the CGE’s goals.
  • Engage in research, analysis, and development of materials where applicable.
  • Collaborate with teams to execute organizational objectives effectively.
  • Participate in workshops, training, and educational initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines.

Qualifications
The following qualifications are required for the respective internship roles:

  • Public Education & Information Interns (Mahikeng and Durban): National Diploma in Community Development or Diploma in Education/Equivalent.
  • Legal Interns (Pretoria, Cape Town, East London, and Kimberley): B.Proc / LLB / BA (Law) / BCom (Law).
  • Public Education & Information Interns (Polokwane): Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Bachelor of Arts/Equivalent.
  • Finance Interns (Johannesburg): Bachelor of Commerce or Equivalent.
  • HR Interns (Johannesburg): National Diploma / Degree in Human Resources or Equivalent.
  • Policy Research Interns (Johannesburg): Master of Arts (MA) Degree in Social Sciences or any behavioral sciences.

Experience
No prior work experience is required for this internship. However, applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in gender equality and the field relevant to the position they are applying for.

Skills
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies:

  • Ability to work independently, plan, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong teamwork skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Must be a South African citizen.
