Job Description
The Gauteng Partnership Fund (GPF) is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Supply Chain Graduate Intern to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in Supply Chain Management (SCM) and are looking to develop their administrative and procurement skills. As an intern, you will work closely with our experienced SCM team and other business units to provide support and contribute to the efficiency of supply chain operations.
This internship offers the chance to learn key aspects of supply chain functions while supporting various SCM activities at GPF.
Responsibilities
As the Supply Chain Intern, you will be responsible for:
- Supplier Sourcing: Identifying and sourcing suppliers from the Central Supplier Database.
- Price Evaluation: Compiling and evaluating price quotations to support procurement decisions.
- Market Research: Conducting research on products and services to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
- Procurement Planning: Assisting in the preparation of procurement plans and quarterly reports.
- Tender & Bid Management: Supporting tender management activities and participating in bid committee processes.
- Inventory Management: Assisting with inventory control and monthly inventory reconciliations.
- Travel Coordination: Coordinating travel arrangements and handling related monthly reconciliations.
- Contract Management: Assisting with contract administration and expenditure trend analysis.
- Reporting & Compliance: Drafting reports and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Economic Development & BEE Reporting: Supporting the preparation of Economic Development and BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) reports.
- Team Collaboration: Engaging in teamwork, brainstorming sessions, and mentoring activities to improve SCM processes.
- Additional Duties: Assisting with various other supply chain-related tasks as requested by the CEO, CFO, or Line Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education:
- National Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related qualification.
Experience
- No prior work experience is required. This internship is specifically designed for recent graduates or individuals with academic qualifications in supply chain management who are looking to gain practical experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in MS Office: Competence in Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy and consistency in work.
- Team-Oriented: Willingness to collaborate and contribute in a team environment.
