Job Description:
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is offering an exciting opportunity for individuals to join their team as a Dispensary Support Learner. This position is aimed at learners capable of completing the Basic Pharmacist Assistant course. The primary goal is to provide comprehensive learning and hands-on experience in the pharmaceutical environment, equipping learners with the skills necessary for effective dispensing and promoting on-the-job quality learning.
Responsibilities:
As a Dispensary Support Learner, your key duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Selling Schedule 1 medicines and scheduled substances.
- Assisting with call center scripts and handling patient service telephone calls.
- Providing health-related information to promote well-being.
- Assisting with scheme authorizations for chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medications.
- Reporting low or out-of-stock levels and stock discrepancies to the Dispensary Manager.
- Receiving and unpacking dispensary stock according to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Merchandising stock and maintaining cleanliness of dispensary and OTC shelves under the guidance of the Responsible Pharmacist.
- Ensuring accurate picking, packing, labeling, and checking of medication.
- Monitoring common dosages and drug interactions.
- Ensuring that all medications are verified and signed off by a qualified pharmacist.
- Following up on script tracking and patient appointments as directed by the Dispensary Manager.
Qualifications:
To be eligible for this position, you must have:
- A Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics (HG) and either Physical Science or Life Science.
- An average score of at least 50% in your final exams.
Experience:
