Job Overview
The Department of Small Business Development (DSBD) Internship is inviting applications for its internship program for the year 2024. We are seeking enthusiastic and ambitious individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience in supporting and promoting small business growth and development. This internship program is designed to provide practical exposure to the various aspects of small business support and economic development.
Position Purpose
The purpose of the internship program is to equip interns with the necessary skills and knowledge to contribute effectively to small business development initiatives. Interns will work closely with experienced professionals, participating in projects and activities that support the Department’s mission to foster a conducive environment for small business growth and sustainability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of small business support programs and initiatives.
- Conduct research and analysis on small business trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Support the planning and coordination of workshops, seminars, and training sessions for small business owners.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation related to small business projects.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute ideas and feedback.
- Engage with small business owners and stakeholders to gather insights and provide support.
- Perform administrative tasks and support the daily operations of the department.
Education Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s program in Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Strong academic performance in relevant courses.
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in small business development, economic research, or entrepreneurship is beneficial but not required.
- Demonstrated interest in small business growth and economic development.
Skills Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
