Job Description:

The DCS is currently hiring for several entry-level positions in Administrative Services, Registry Clerk, and Driver roles. These positions provide critical support to the Office of the Deputy Minister in Pretoria and offer a chance to gain valuable experience in government operations. Available Positions:

1. Administrative Services / System Clerk

Salary: R216,217 per annum

Responsibilities:
  • Provide general clerical support services including organizing, storing, and capturing data and correspondence.
  • Maintain registers and statistics, handle routine inquiries, and update documents and reports.
  • Assist with procurement tasks including obtaining quotations, completing procurement forms, and managing office stock.
  • Maintain a personnel records system, including tracking leave and assisting with personnel administration.
  • Provide financial administration support such as capturing and updating expenditure and managing telephone accounts and petty cash.

2. Registry Clerk

Salary: R216,217 per annum
Location: Office of the Deputy Minister, Pretoria

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure smooth and effective document flow between the office of the executive authority, the department, and other stakeholders.
  • File and manage documents according to the National Archives Act and departmental policies.
  • Support general functions in the office of the executive authority, including managing stationery and stock control.
  • Review and ensure proper application of Public Service and departmental prescripts.

3. Driver

Salary: R183,279 per annum
Location: Office of the Deputy Minister, Pretoria

Responsibilities:
  • Collect and deliver documents, as well as distribute materials for the office of the executive authority.
  • Transport employees, guests, and special advisors as needed.
  • Maintain records of vehicle usage, including log sheets and petrol receipts.
  • Ensure familiarity with office policies and procedures related to transport and vehicle use.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate is required for all positions.
  • Valid driver’s license is required for the Driver position.

Experience:

  • No previous work experience is required for these entry-level positions.
  • These roles are ideal for candidates who are currently unemployed and seeking to gain work experience in government.
