Position Purpose

The purpose of the AHRI Internship Programme is to provide recent graduates with hands-on experience in health research, data analysis, and project management. Interns will work closely with experienced researchers and professionals, gaining valuable insights and contributing to the advancement of health research in Africa.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in on-the-job training sessions and workshops.
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and analysis of research projects.
  • Collect, process, and analyze data under the guidance of senior researchers.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and research documentation.
  • Support the development and implementation of research protocols.
  • Collaborate with team members on various research assignments.
  • Attend meetings, seminars, and conferences as required.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to research projects.
  • Adhere to AHRI policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.

Education Requirements

  • A recent graduate with a degree or diploma in Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
  • A strong academic record.

Experience Requirements

  • No prior work experience is required.
  • Any previous internship, volunteer work, or research experience in a related field will be an advantage.

Skills Requirements

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of statistical software (e.g., SPSS, STATA) is an advantage.
