Job Overview

The African Development Bank (AfDB) is pleased to announce its Internship Programme for 2024. Position Purpose

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and implementation of departmental projects and initiatives.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support the Bank’s policy and operational work.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Provide administrative support to department staff as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to achieve the Bank’s strategic objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or mentor.

Education Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree program in a relevant field.
  • Fields of study include Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Law, Environmental Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Human Resources, Communications, and other related disciplines.

Experience Requirements

  • No prior work experience is required; however, relevant internships, part-time work, or academic projects will be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated interest in international development, economic policy, or related areas through coursework or extracurricular activities.

Skills Requirements

  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of initiative and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Fluency in English or French is required; knowledge of the other language is an advantage.
